Meet the Teacher

Maria
Maria

I’ve always considered music as the ultimate essence of life. A minor tune has the sadness of the world, and every major is genuine happiness and celebration. You can experience solitude in a piano solo, while more instruments give you a sense of community. Sopranos are expressions of bright air and basses are of the depth of earth. Every single sound is a little piece of the entire world.

I started playing the piano as an 8 year-old little girl. I loved classical music lessons, but, at home, I preferred to dream and compose my own songs. As a teenager, I fell in love with jazz; I attended private jazz piano lessons to develop improvisation, learn jazz standards, and improve my composition skills. I had several classical concerts, but I ended up playing popular music: the past few years I was playing a mix of jazz, rock, pop and funky music with my bands.

I’m a qualified teacher and I have several years of experience in teaching from very beginners to intermediate level. I provide a relaxed and fun atmosphere where the students can easily learn the techniques, read notes, gain knowledge of harmony and rhythm, and learn to play their favourite songs. These lessons are fantastic opportunities for those who are passionate for the written notes and keen on playing world-classics, while also creative, open-minded and eager to learn the basics of composing.
